About the

project

Comfort is the enemy of success.  It takes learning and development through challenges to excel at something… or does it?  Why can’t learning and development be easy and enjoyable?

Well, it can be.  And ASPL is the key.

ASPL is a management consultancy, training and recruitment firm that works closely with Safe Transport Victoria to assist in ensuring all staff are empowered on their personal and professional development journey.

And yes, we know how super rad and exciting that doesn’t sound, but, nonetheless, we all still know what an important part of our careers this is.  That’s why ASPL asked us to create a video that would help generate excitement and interest from employees about their work with Safe Transport Vic.

What better way to make professional development and learning exciting and easy, than to gamify it?

So, we transformed the learning and development pillars into ‘achievements’ to be collected by characters throughout the video.  But, we didn’t want to trivialise these pillars, we still wanted them to be the main focus of each scene, with each scene around them reflecting what the pillar means.

Following this train of thought, we ended somewhere between an explainer and a gamified video.  An approach that took the best of both worlds, effectively explaining each pillar and the development strategy, while maintaining that feeling of achievement and excitement throughout the narrative.

So maybe that old adage isn’t quite so accurate.  I mean, we think it was a pretty successful video, and ASPL agrees, and these office chairs kept us nice and comfy throughout the entire development process.
